Description

The Rugrat is a small, unpredictable monster that scampers around the level until it detects a player. With its mischievous nature and chaotic motion, it quickly turns into a significant hazard once it fixes on its target.

Behavior :

Upon spotting a player, the Rugrat immediately looks for the closest item that is a tiny to big-sized Valuable. Once it secures one, it starts a short 3-second wind-up before attempting to launch the object. If the player is too close, or if it lacks an unobstructed view, the Rugrat will retreat or reposition itself to prepare a better throw.

While it holds an item, the Rugrat entirely disregards stealth—you are unable to hide from it during this phase. If it cannot find an item to throw, it will either continue its search or temporarily run away.

Vulnerabilities & Mechanics :

If the item the Rugrat attempts to throw is too big, the monster will actually sustain damage from the failed toss. Following a throw—whether it connects or not—it begins a brief cooldown period that lasts approximately 15 seconds, during which time it will not re-engage or pursue players.

Because of this pause in activity and its habit of injuring itself with large items, the Rugrat is less threatening when alone, but it can still generate mayhem in rooms that are cluttered or contain many Valuables.

Appearance :

He looks like a baby wearing only a white diaper. He has his mouth open with one tooth visible, and yellow eyes.

Tips & Strategies

  • Utilize Any Weapon: All weapons are highly effective against Rugrats and can be employed to dispatch them rapidly.

  • Stunning Stops Throws: If a Rugrat picks up a Valuable and is stunned before it can throw, it will drop the item, which also causes it to sustain some damage.

  • Sneak to Evade Detection: Crouching or performing a tumble makes you practically invisible to Rugrats that are still in their passive roaming stage.

  • Look-Up Maneuver: If a Rugrat has already grabbed a Valuable, you can seize the item yourself, look directly up while holding it, and it will not be launched. This technique functions with any item, regardless of its weight.

  • Extend the Throw Timer: While using the "look-up" trick, sprint directly toward the Rugrat. It will constantly backpedal and will not throw the item until its 10-second throw countdown runs out.

  • Keep Valuables Elevated: Holding an item up in the air can prevent a Rugrat from grabbing it. However, it will persist in trying to snatch it for up to 30 seconds before finally giving up and running off.

  • Use the C.A.R.T. for Security: Throwing or dropping a Valuable into the C.A.R.T. or the extraction point renders it immune to damage—even if the Rugrat was preparing to launch it.

  • Inexpensive Item Strategy: One dependable way to eliminate a Rugrat is to strike it repeatedly with a cheap, sturdy Valuable using the mouse scroll wheel. Each impact stuns it for 2 seconds and deals damage. A single item is usually enough to finish the creature off.
