Description

The Headman is a Level 3 Monster resembling a massive disembodied head with piercing yellow eyes. It drifts silently through the environment. From time to time, it emits a loud clacking sound from its oversized teeth — an early warning of its presence.

Behavior :

Upon gaining line of sight with a player, the screen flickers with static as the Headman lets out a chilling scream and immediately surges forward. Once aggressive, it uses its powerful jaws to lunge and bite, dealing 50 damage to players and 10 to other monsters. Unlike most monsters, the Headman can easily reach players hiding under low furniture or elevated on high ground, making it extremely difficult to evade.

It will also bite through anything obstructing its path, including valuables and the C.A.R.T., which can lead to significant loss of value. Because of this, keeping essential items clear of high-traffic areas is critical.

Aggro Sensitivity :

The Headman is highly reactive to proximity. Standing too close—even out of its direct line of sight—can trigger its aggression. However, if the player is crouching, tumbling, or crawling, the time it takes to aggro is noticeably delayed, offering a small but useful window to retreat or reposition.

Tips & Strategies

  • Use of Mobility: The player can slide while crouching underneath the Headman, which may cause it to lose track of them. However, this maneuver is risky and will often result in taking damage during the attempt.

  • Avoidance Over Confrontation: Due to its high damage output and tracking capabilities, it’s generally safer to avoid the Headman altogether unless you’re well-prepared to take it down.

  • Unpredictable Pursuit: When aggressive, the Headman ignores normal pathfinding and will take the most direct route to its target—flying over pits and scaling vertically. Because of this, trying to loop around it or hide atop elevated objects is unreliable and often fatal.
