The Clown is a Level 3 Monster, easily identified by its horrifying, clown-like look and excessively long nose. This unsettling creature moves through levels with heavy, stomping footsteps, making its presence difficult to miss.
The moment the Clown catches sight of a player, it launches a powerful laser beam directly at the player's head after starting a charge-up sequence as soon as it sees them. This beam can destroy Valuables and injure any other Monsters in its path, but it also deals players a lot of damage.
Importantly, the vertical trajectory of the beam locks in as soon as the attack starts. This implies that once the firing sequence has begun, the clown is unable to make any vertical adjustments to its aim.
The Clown slams through anything in its path, including Valuables and everyday objects, just like the Robe. Items stored inside the C.A.R.T. or left in hallways are particularly vulnerable to damage or devaluation due to the creature's movement.
The Clown becomes especially hazardous in confined spaces. Even if it hasn't visually detected a player, it will quickly spin around and kick if it senses nearby movement.
This detection capability even applies to players who are crouched or actively hiding. This means that simply moving silently isn't enough to evade it. Staying completely motionless is often the only way to remain safe when you are in the creature's immediate vicinity.
The Heart Hugger is a type of carnivorous plant, with a brown stem, surrounded by another thinner green stem spiraling around the main one. It has two small green leaves at the base of its stem. The carnivorous plant's mouth is entirely pink, heart-shaped, with teeth, and two small arms at its ends. Inside its mouth, you can see its small mouth in the center, and two tiny smiling faces at the top left and right of the heart. When you are under the effect of the gas, the plant "transforms" (for you) into a very cute little floating heart with big black eyes and a pink smile.
This piece of graffiti heavily implies that the Clown’s deadly laser ability comes from the red crystal embedded in its orb. The crystal appears to be the very same one found in Dumgolf’s Staff (a weapon). A popular theory suggests that the Clown has somehow absorbed or fused with the staff’s gem, possibly explaining its destructive beam attack.
Jumping the Kick : You can avoid the Clown’s kick attack by jumping at just the right moment. Alternatively, the "melee lock" trick—baiting the kick by getting close and then quickly backing away—can also help you dodge. Sprint upgrades make this maneuver more reliable.
Crouch Timing for Lasers : When the Clown starts aiming its laser, standing briefly before crouching can allow you to duck under it cleanly. Conversely, if you're already crouched, jumping can sometimes let you leap over the beam.
