Description

Rambley’s Railroad is the Rambley the Raccoon’s attraction in Chapter 1, who is also the mascot of Indigo Park. The main purpose of this attraction is to promote others paid attractions in the park.

Appearance :

Rambley's Railroad is a classic train ride attraction that's… showing its age a bit. The waiting area looks like an old Western train station : wood paneling, flickering electric lights in dark chandeliers, and a black metal fence marking off the queue. In the center stands a large statue of Rambley, the attraction's mascot, but also the park's mascot.

Gameplay :

During the attraction, you will pass through various themed environments to meet the park's mascots and their attractions :

  • Rambley's Section : You start in a desert landscape filled with cacti and rock. Rambley teleports from the screen in the middle of the room to the one in front of you on the train.

  • Mollie’s section : Next, you traverse a forested area. You spot a cardboard cutout of Mollie in her plane. Looking at the back of the attraction, you will see the real Mollie watching you through a door, before slipping away.
  • Finley’s sectionThe sequel takes place in an underwater setting, with suspended bubbles, coral scattered on the ground, and Finley emerging from a cave after Rambley's calls. They chat for a while, notably about Oceanic Odyssey, Finley's attraction.
  • Salem Section : Here, the Railroad abruptly stops. Rambley starts glitching : something has gone wrong, and you need to get off the train and go backstage to get the train working again (check out the Chapter 1 blog for information on how to solve this puzzle). Once you've done that, you simply return to the train and continue. You've only seen a piece of a destroyed Salem poster...
  • Lloyd Section : As the ride resumes, you enterrrr a theatrrrrical rrrroom : Lloyd's one, surrounded by a painted audience applauding him. If you turn around before exiting this section, you'll see Mollie right behind you, watching you.

Dialogues :

The Rambley's Railroad is used to discover the world of Indigo Park, and for this reason, a lot of dialogues are played during the attraction :

  • Rambley Section :
    Rambley - “Welcome to Rambley’s Railroad ! I’m Conductor Rambley !”
  • Mollie’s section :
    Rambley - "Oh look ! It's Mollie Macaw !"
Mollie - "It's Mollie Macaw ! The greatest pilot you ever saw  !"
Rambley - "You sure are, Moll ! Why, you only crashed into six barns this week  !"
    Mollie - "I'm not crashin', Rambley ! I'm barnstormin' !"
    Rambley - "Haha ! what's barnstorming ?"
Mollie - "It's crashing, with style ! I-it barely hurts at all !"
"Say, those young adventurers you've got along with you look like great pilots ! Why not try your hand at flying in my ride, Rooftop Races ?"
       [Rambley speaks to you]
Rambley - "Admission included with your Critter Cuff."
  • Finley’s section :
Rambley - "Oh Finley ! Come on out and greet the people !"
       [Finley come out]
    Finley - "Hi,
    Rambley..."
Rambley - "Why the long face ? And body ?"
Finley - "You've known me for one hundred years, Rambley."
"I'm ALWAYS long because I'm always LONGING for a new seashell for my collection."
Rambley - "Oh, Finley ! You should come out of YOUR shell !"
Finley - "How about YOU come into it instead ? My ride, Oceanic Odyssey, will teach you all about the wonder down under the deep blue sea."
                     "It's as blue as me."
                      "I hope you'll visit. I'm so lonely..."
       [Rambley speaks to you]
Rambley - "Oceanic Odyssey currently closed for repairs !"
    Mollie - "Closed for repairs..."

  • Salem section :
    Rambley - "Zbrbbzrbbzrbzrb"
[you go out to repair the train]
Mollie Animatronic - "Not Rambley, he hurts Lloyd- he hurts Lloyd- he hurt..."
[you repair and return to the train]

  • Salem section :
    Rambley - "Hey there, Lloyd..."
Lloyd - "Do not SHAME me with that COMMON FOLK name ! I am the PRRRRROUD, the PRRRRESTIGIOUS, the PRRRRRRROFESSIONAL Lloydford L. Lion, actor extrrrrrrraordinaire !"
    Rambley - "Great act, Lloyd..."
Lloyd -  "Of course it was ! I'm the rrrrreal star around here !"

Trivia :

  • Disney Roots : The ride’s design is heavily inspired by Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, and it was previously known as Lloyd’s Limos, referencing Disney’s The Great Movie Ride and Superstar Limo. Signs hinting at that older name still lurk in the background in the attraction.

  • Hidden Storytelling : Right at the start, you might catch a picture showing Lloyd handing the ride over to Rambley—an allegory for how roles shifted behind the scenes.

  • Real Merch : All the souvenir shirts in the Steam & Steel Souvenirs shop are real offerings—clearly tied to the actual game’s merchandise store.

  • Early Visual Glitch : In pre-1.1 versions, the queue used old CRT monitors (a nostalgic choice), which was quietly revised later—but community members still mention it as a cool retro detail.

  • Emotional Core : As TV Tropes notes, the ride shifts you from whimsical amusement to tense unease—the “bait and switch” is right there in the structure of the ride itself. Rambley tries to stay cheerful, but cracks begin to show with each section
