How to play R.E.P.O. ?

Here is a complete guide to help you get started in R.E.P.O., learn how the game works, survive, and use some tips.

1. Getting Started :
You begin your R.E.P.O. journey in a small truck at the entrance to a monster-packed location. Your AI boss, the Taxman, demands valuables with a strict money quota. It’s you (and up to five other Semibots, if you play with friends or online) who will have to cross maps, find valuables, while avoiding monsters, to bring back money at the extraction point.

• In the top left corner, in green, is your HP. You have 100 when you start a game, but you can increase your HP with upgrades at the Service Station.
• Below HP, in yellow, is your stamina. You start the game with 40, which you can also increase through upgrades.
• In the top left corner, you'll see the amount of money you need to bring back to an extraction point (the number of extraction points is indicated just below).
• At each level, the money needed increases, and the number of extraction points too (when there are several, they are in different places on the map. Also, only 1 extraction point can be activated at the same time).

3. Monsters :

There are currently 19 monsters in R.E.P.O., each with its own unique mechanic. If you want to learn more about each of the game's monsters, head over to the Monsters page. There you'll find explanations, tips, and how their spawns work.

Here we will see how avoid them and not be spotted : 

• Many enemies rely on hearing, others on sight, and some on both. Crouching and moving stealthily distracts and helps avoid detection.
• You can use your map to avoid monsters, know where to spot objects, and your allies. This will allow you to avoid/circumvent monsters, while also rejoining your allies or collecting valuables.
• For smaller monsters, you can catch them and fight with them (except Apex Predator : it will attack you). You can also use valuables to inflict damage to these monsters

4. Extraction :

Here are some tips that might be useful :

• Place the entire C.A.R.T. and items in the extraction point, or they will be completely destroyed and you will lose the money. A red line on the ground indicates the limit, so be careful, especially with large items.
• Don't stay inside or too close to the extraction point, or you will be destroyed.
• • If you are in singleplayer, you will lose the game and start over.
  • If you are multiplayer, you will die and respawn with 1HP & and the valuables will lose value.
• Each time you extract, you can return to the Truck to heal yourself HP. This is very useful for level 4+, where there are multiple extraction points and more and more monsters.

5. Best Upgrades & Team :

There are 10 upgrades in R.E.P.O., and each one offers a valuable improvement. But some should be prioritized :

Additionally, while R.E.P.O. is fun as a single player, it's much more enjoyable to play with multiple players (that's why there's a matchmaking system). Playing with multiple players offers benefits, such as :

• Each player can specialize in an area : exploring the map ; fighting monsters ; collecting valuables ; carrying heavy objects ; etc...
• With several players it is much easier to carry objects which, when you are in single player, are impossible to move without several Strength Upgrades.
• Monsters (especially level 3 ones) are much easier to beat and eliminate when there are several of you.
• And most importantly... the game is way more fun !

6. Tips for success :

Here are some other tips that will help you get to know the game better and avoid being surprised by things you don't know.

• Some valuables that you collect can have specificities (noise ; slowdown ; voice change ; explosions ; etc.). Be careful and be careful: they can attract monsters or inflict damage on you (some are just funny...)
• It is smart to buy items & upgrades in large quantities after 3 or 4 levels, because they increase in price depending on the number already owned.
• There's a secret passage in the Service Station (shop), on the ceiling above the Health Packs, with special weapons inside. It's up to you to figure out how to access it...
