In a teaser for Poppy Playtime Chapter 5, released today by Mob Entertainment and titled "experiment 1202", we see the shadow of a new monster...
New Monster
The shadow of this new monster is a bit puzzling… running through an area filled with Smiling Critter heads, including Hoppy Hopscotch. As it runs, it seems to shift into different shapes, almost transforming in real time. At one point, you can even spot what looks like the silhouette of Bubba Bubbaphant.
But it’s also possible that we already know this monster…
A little earlier in the video, we can see this character—the same one that appeared on a loading screen during the Fortnite collaboration.
It’s possible that the monster we see running is this one… or maybe not at all.
Because we actually have a second theory!
Mimic Theory
This little character may not look scary at first, but it could turn out to be far more dangerous than it seems. In the video, we can see that the environment is filled with pieces of toys and loose skins — a perfect playground for a monster that loves to disguise itself as others.
Moreover, the most obvious clue — the one that almost confirms this theory — is the fact that the silhouette keeps changing shape constantly as it moves, accompanied by a strange
metamorphosis-like sound.
If that’s the case, we might finally get the chance to see the Bigger Bodies of monsters we’ve never encountered before, like Crafty Corn or Kickin’ Chickin!
Yarnaby's wife
On the wall in the video, we can see a drawing of a “Yarnaby” that looks different from the one we know — possibly Yarnaby’s “wife”?
Plus, in this drawing, they seem to be wearing some kind of dress! This confirms nothing—it's just slight speculation.
