Today, Sunday, October 13, 2025, marks the 4th anniversary of Poppy Playtime ! 🎉
To celebrate, Zach & Seth, the game’s creators, have dropped the first teaser for Chapter 5, along with a deliciously intriguing message.
Message
In their message, Zach & Seth say :
"What’s coming next will be the most ambitious, most immersive chapter in the Poppy Playtime universe—crafted with more passion, care, and imagination than ever before. [...] and we can truly say that Chapter 5 is going to be the best yet."
This makes us think that Chapter 5 will be the most terrifying yet (after a Chapter 4 that was only moderately scary), with gameplay quality surpassing all previous chapters !
Image - Poppy's death
In the image, we can see the Prototype’s (EXP1006) hand holding the skull of…
Poppy ?!
Is this foreshadowing her death ? Or will Chapter 5 finally reveal Poppy’s
story and how she became a toy?
Or maybe it’s just a metaphor, showing that the Prototype has complete control over Poppy—and could even… kill her ?
For now, these are just questions !
Trailer ? Date ? ARG ?
For now, we have no release date, neither for the game nor for any trailers.
However, we can probably expect a first teaser trailer before the end of 2025. In addition, a new video has been added to the Poppy Playtime Chapter 1 Steam page. It’s most likely a test or a mistake from the developers — but it definitely
strengthens the idea that we might get a teaser trailer or the start of an ARG before the end of the
year.
One thing is for sure: the game won’t launch in January 2026—it will come later to ensure the best possible quality !

The image of how the prototype is holding poppy's head is the same as shakespeare holding the skull and the meaning symbolizes the inevitability of death and the transient nature of life but I don't really understand the meaning and how us imortality related to the prototype.
